Community Partnerships
Norway House Community Council
Norway House Cree Nation works closely with Norway House Community Council to ensure any clients living off reserve are also able to access health and wellness services at the new NHCN Health Centre of Excellence. During functional planning, we identified Norway House Community Council as a key stakeholder. All community council demographic information—current and future—has been factored into our planning.
Discussions are currently underway with a number of regional communities as well to determine how the NHCN Health Centre of Excellence can support regional health and wellness needs.
NHCN Education, Training & Culture Division
The Education, Training, & Culture Division provides information to the community about job opportunities, training seminars, as well as post-secondary sponsorship for community members. This division is actively involved with students studying in post-secondary education to provide them with the resources needed to succeed.
Frontier School Division
The Frontier School Division demonstrates excellence in education and operates two (2) schools in Norway House. These include Jack River School (N-6) and Helen Betty Osborne Ininiw Education Resource Centre (N-12). The Health Centre of Excellence is going to provide health services and education to youth within the school division.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police – Norway House Detachment
Norway House Cree Nation Parks & Recreational Division
The Norway House Cree Nation Parks and Recreation will provide Recreational, Educational, Leisure and Cultural Opportunities to the community through the delivery of Physical and Social programs in a Safe and Healthy Environment. It is a proactive approach to healthy living within the community.
