On behalf of the Government of Manitoba....

On behalf of the Government of Manitoba, I want to extend my sincere congratulations to Norway House Cree Nation on the grand opening of the Kinosao Sipi Nanatawiwekamik Health Centre of Excellence.

Every Manitoban deserves access to quality health care in their own community. As our government works to improve health care across Manitoba, Nation to Nation collaboration is vital to addressing the unique challenges Northern Manitoba/aces in accessing the health care you need.

Today's grand opening is a huge step towards quality health care services being available to all Manitobans. I want to thank everyone who has put in the hard work to make this Health Centre a reality. Your dedication to health care is making a real difference in the lives of so many Manitobans. I look forward to continued collaboration to improve health care in your community and across Northern Manitoba. Congratulations once again.

Message From Chief Larson Anderson and Council In the Spirit of Health and Well-being, it is with great pride and a deep sense of accomplishment that my Council and I on behalf of the people of Norway House Cree Nation, welcome you to the grand opening of the Kinosew Sipi Nanatawiwekamik Health Centre of Excellence. This moment marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to achieve equitable healthcare for all members of our community and for Northern Manitoban’s. Healthcare and Wellness has always been a priority for us, and the establishment of the Health Centre of Excellence (HCE) is a reflection of our commitment to addressing the needs of our people. Over the past ten years, countless individuals have dedicated their time, energy, and expertise to make this vision a reality. We acknowledge and deeply appreciate their hard work and unwavering dedication. This state-of-the-art facility, the largest Health Centre project undertaken by Indigenous Services Canada in partnership with a First Nation community, is not just a building. It is a symbol of hope, a hub of innovation, and a mark of the resilience and strength of Norway House Cree Nation and the Ininiwak people. Situated on the Treaty Five lands of NHCN, this one-of-a-kind Indigenous Health Care Centre is designed to address our community’s unique needs. With expanded Renal Dialysis delivery and the future addition of a surgical suite, we are bringing advanced healthcare services closer to home, ensuring that our community has access to the highest standards of care. Our heartfelt gratitude extends to everyone who contributed to making this vision a reality, from our dedicated team of leaders and professionals to our partners and supporters. Your collaboration and commitment have been instrumental in achieving this dream. The dream of a place where healing and well-being are accessible to all, right here in the North. We are dedicated to serving the needs of our people, ensuring that every member has access to quality healthcare. This centre was built with the love, care, and determination of our leadership and community members, for the benefit of our people. The HCE represents a promise for a healthier future and embodies our shared values, our strength, and our unwavering commitment to work in partnership for the benefit of our elders, families and generations to come. Thank you for being a part of this historic occasion. Your presence here today strengthens our community spirit and reaffirms our commitment to health and wellness for all. Ekosani.
